For her most recent work A Desire (2008) the artist has returned to the English countryside and Constable country to try and demystify our ongoing obsession with the picturesque.
Officially an ‘Area of Outstanding Beauty’, the projected landscape hits the black mirror only to appear darkened, hazy and imbued with nostalgia. This tainted idyll is then reflected back to the viewer forcing him/her to question Beauty’s inextricable role in Nature and the advent of Nature as a self-referential museum of itself.
